What to Expect

You’ll notice there is a lot of empty space in our box.  This allows us to change the gym every day to suit our workouts.  Some days we may do a lot with barbells, other days, medicine balls.  Sometimes we need the floor space just to move around.  Regardless, you’ll find we have plenty of equipment and the workouts will be varied and fun.

Come to class prepared with a towel and water.  Dress to move comfortably and sweat.

We sometimes run or do other exercises outside, so you might want to bring an extra layer. Also, you might find yourself upside down, so it’s a good idea to have a shirt that tucks in, or at least a close-fitting layer underneath.

You may also wish to bring separate running shoes and long sweat pants. The shoes can come in handy if we run that day; the long pants can protect your shins on days we do certain weightlifting exercises.

The Workouts

CrossFit uses many whole-body exercises. These exercises combine what’s typically thought of as “strength” and “cardio,” making for shorter, more intense, and more effective workouts.  We also link different exercises together in ways you may have never seen before. What’s more, we almost never repeat workouts.  When we do, it is usually for everyone to compare to a previous time and see their progress.

Parking

We have a ton of parking.  We recommend that you park in the back – access the back lots via the narrow alleyway that separates our building from the building next door with the hair salon.

Punctuality

Please arrive on time. There is no need to arrive sooner than the start of class, but it can be very disruptive to arrive late.

After class, please put your equipment away and help clear the floor.  Once you’re done with your workout and write in your Journal, feel free to stretch, hang out and chat, or finish catching your breath – but please do so on the benches in the back or the outside deck.
