I had been an avid trail runner and had been doing yoga, even bikram, for years, but in my late 40s, it just wasn’t working for me anymore. The dreaded muffin top was creeping up, and I was getting thick around the middle. On top of that, I was short on time and work was picking up, so I had to make a change.

When I first started, I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t do a pull up, a ring dip, and my soft hands had never touched a barbell. This was the first thing that attracted me to CrossFit: the challenge. The coaches took their time with me and made sure I was doing the progressions safely. Before I knew it, I was getting pretty good at this crazy thing!

Fast forward to now, I have lost my muffin top. I learned abs are really built in the kitchen and I have a better understanding about what goes into my body. For women my age, it’s very important to take care of our bodies and build muscle.  Now, I can do things like pull-ups, ring dips, handstand push-ups, although I’m still working on the barbell, I love getting to throw weight around! It’s really nice to have something to throw down when you’ve had a rough day and need to get out those aggressions. I feel stronger, healthier, and best of all, happier.

The CFTO Coaches will help you achieve your goals. Whether it's to lose weight, get fit for your heart, compete, or improve your immunity, they’ve got you covered. They are time efficient, observant, and experienced. On top of that, CFTO is family! I have made so many incredible friends that I get to see all the time and have a support group that I can lean on.
